The Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs will clash for the second straight day later this evening as both teams continue their preparations for the rapidly upcoming National Hockey League regular season.

If you're expecting a preview of what you will see during the regular season you may leave a bit disappointed given that a number of key players will be absent from today's roster, with notable names like Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, and John Tavares all absent from today's lineup.

That being said the Habs will be sending out a number of their notable players this evening as well with the likes of Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, Kirby Dach and Juraj Slafkovsky all expected to be in the lineup for the second clash between these two teams in as many days.

First here is a look at the line combinations and pairings from the Canadiens during today's morning skate:

You will quickly notice that the Maple Leafs lineup for tonight's preseason contest appears to be much leaner than the one the Canadiens will be putting on the ice this evening.

The good news here for the Leafs is that, while he is not expected to play this evening, William Nylander was back on the ice today after missing some time in training camp due to an illness. This could very well mean that we will see Nylander on Monday, when these two teams meet again in preseason action.
