The 2023-24 NHL season opened last night with three games on the schedule, but tonight is the home opener for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are hosting the Montreal Canadiens at Scotiabank Arena.
According to David Alter from The Hockey News, these were the lines at practice for Toronto on Tuesday. Head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed that veteran blueliner John Klingberg will make his Leafs’ debut tonight as he is cleared for action.

As for the Canadiens, defenceman Justin Barron and forward Michael Pezzetta hit the ice for the Habs’ optional skate on Wednesday ahead of tonight’s contest in Toronto, meaning they would be scratched for the game.
