The 32 year old blueliner inks a new contract.

This just in, 32 year old defenseman Travis Hamonic has signed a two year contract extension with the Ottawa Senators worth $1.1 million per season.
Hamonic had a bit of a resurgent season with the Senators last season, putting up his best stat line since the 2015-16 season. He struggled in one and a half seasons with the Vancouver Canucks and three seasons with the Calgary Flames in recent years, but seemed to really find his groove with the Sens playing alongside youngster Jake Sanderson for Sanderson's rookie season.
Personally, I think this is a great contract for both Hamonic and the Senators. The player fits with the team's culture on and off the ice very well and the contract is very reasonable at just $1.1 million per season. Great value for both the player and the team on this deal. Well done, GM Pierre Dorion.
