Surprise, surprise... alcohol was involved.

Veteran NHL forward Corey Perry is getting closer to his Edmonton Oilers debut, just five weeks removed from being suspended and subsequently cut loose by the Chicago Blackhawks.
At the time of his removal from the Blackhawks there were crazy rumors about Perry's involvement with the mother of oneof his teammates. Those rumors were proved to be false and refuted by Perry and the Blackhawks, but neither the player nor the team would shed much light into what exactly happened. ESPN reporter Emily Kaplan broke news that Perry was involved in an "alcohol fueled" incident in Columbus following a game against the Blue Jackets but even she was vague in her description of the incident.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli offered up a report that stated Perry embarrassed himself at a team function with some of the Blackhawks' biggest corporate partners. Again... just a bit vague again though.
Well, tonight former NHLer John Scott is speaking freely on his 'Dropping the Gloves' podcast, stating that Perry “made a mistake in Columbus one night, drank too much and made a pass at a staff member who worked at NBC”.
Check it out:
Honestly... that's not far off what was reported and what was kind of suspected by fans and analysts.
For the record, Perry took some time to work on himself and is reportedly in a much better place with himself now.
