Former Canucks teammate shared details of feud between JT Miller and Elias Pettersson
Finally some dirt from inside the locker room!
It's been a season long Soap Opera in Vancouver for the Vancouver Canucks and the team's fanbase.
Star forward JT Miller's leave of absence combined with rumors that he and teammate Elias Pettersson are feuding have sparked controversy on the West Coast. But so far, no reporters have managed to dig up any details of the beef between the two teammates... Hell, we still don't even really know why Miller left the team temporarily.
Now, thanks to some insight from former teammate Brad Richardson, we're finally getting some insight into what's going on.
On the most recent episode of the Missin' Curfew podcast with former NHLers Shane O'Brien and Scottie Upshall, Richardson reveals that Miller is and was too hard on Pettersson and that he personally warned Miller about alienating the kid.
Check it out:
- Brad Richardson
First thing's first... the Canucks should have never let Richardson walk as a free agent back in 2015. Another failure of Jim Benning's...
Secondly, I'm inclined to believe Richardson 100%.
We know that Miller is a feisty individual who won't back down. We also know that Pettersson is more reserved and doesn't really suffer fools easily. The two players have nearly polar opposite personalities. That much we know.
Now we have confirmation that their difference in personality was creating an issue as far back as 2022 when Richardson was both of their teammates. It stands to reason then that things have escalated in the two years since and now we find ourselves in an untenable situation.
So... what's the next move?
Trade? Couple's therapy?
