Former Blues prospect Veilleux suspended for obscene gesture on the ice

What was he thinking!

Former St. Louis Blues prospect and now QMJHL’s Laval Rocket forward Yannick Veilleux was suspended on Wednesday.

While it happens that players get a suspension in junior ranks, the reason why Veilleux will miss the next two games is unbelievable.

The 28-year-old headed to his team’s bench after the Rocket scored on the Toronto Marlies on Tuesday night, and decided to taunt the opposition’s bench by mimicking a blowjob.

The camera caught his obscene gesture and the league had no choice to punish him. He was handed a two-game suspension.

Here is the obscene gesture from Veilleux:

Come on man, you’re almost 30! While the gesture is dumb, the suspension is too. I would have thought that the league would hand him a hefty fine instead. But no, big punishment!

Veilleux was selected in the fourth round, 102nd overall by the Blues at the 2011 entry draft, but never played an NHL game.
