Flyers’ star prospect Matvei Michkov gets huge demotion!
Wow! Shocking punishment…

Matvei Michkov was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers with the 7th overall selection in the NHL Draft back in June. It was however expected that he would return to Russia and keep his slot on the roster of the KHL’s SKA St. Petersburg, where he started the 2023-24 preseason.
However, things aren’t going so well for the Flyers’ star prospect, despite kicking off the pre-calendar on a hot start.
It appears that Michkov has done something to piss off his coaches as he was only played fewer than 8 minutes two games ago, and fewer than five minutes last game, including just one shift in the second period after this turnover.
He hit rock bottom was he was benched for today’s game…
The Flyers have no control over the situation, and must not like what’s happening overseas…
The SKA has been experimenting with Michkov as a centerman this season, and this may not be working out like they thought…
This is however still the preseason, as the regular calendar kicks off on September 1st, and Michkov may come back with a vengeance, ready to prove everyone that he is a talented first-round pick and can shine up front as he develops with SKA.
