Fleury and Boldy smash sticks in frustration after overtime loss.

Marc-Andre Fleury and his teammate Matt Boldy were both furious after a tough loss on Saturday afternoon.

The Minnesota Wild may have seen just seen their playoff hopes fade away, and the frustration is clearly showing.

The Wild came into Saturday's clash against the St. Louis Blues in desperate need of a win with there being a less than 10% chance, mathematically speaking, for the Wild to get into the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs. The Wild nearly pulled it off as well but a third period comeback from the St. Louis Blues would eventually force overtime.

Although the Wild did manage to secure the additional point, that would be all they would get as Brandon Saad would pick up the overtime winner for the Blues.

As I mentioned the frustration was plain to see on the faces of the Wild players, but no one showed that frustration more than Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury and Wild forward Matt Boldy. After Saad managed to put the puck past Fleury in the back of the net, both men would smash their sticks against the net in what almost appeared to be a choreographed performance of some kind.

Unfortunately for the Wild it was anything but, with the frustration that the team has very little hope of making the playoffs likely starting to set it.
