First look at Montreal Canadien Patrik Laine.

Patrik Laine is looking good in his new threads, sporting the colors of one of hockey's most storied franchises.

The Montreal Canadiens surprised many this summer when they took a relatively large risk in acquiring now former Columbus Blue Jackets forward Patrik Laine, the second overall pick at the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

The Canadiens also received a second round pick at the 2026 NHL Entry Draft in the deal and gave up defenseman Jordan Harris in exchange for Laine and the aforementioned pick.

Although it is still some time before we will get the chance to see Laine officially hit the ice as a member of the Montreal Canadiens, on Sunday the Canadiens gave us our very first look at Laine sporting his new uniform. The Canadiens, through their official social media platforms, shared both a picture of Laine wearing the new colors as well as a short video.

In the video Laine can be seen approaching the jersey, which is hanging in the Canadiens locker room, which he then admires briefly before throwing it on over his head. Cameras flash as Laine appears to give a look of approval, seemingly feeling comfortable in his new colors.

Hopefully this new beginning for both Laine and the Canadiens will work to both of their benefits.
