Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Sports apparel brand Fanatics will replace Adidas as the NHL’s official supplier of on-ice uniforms and authentic retail jerseys beginning in the 2024-25 season on a 10-year agreement.

Fans quickly reacted to the announcement seeing that many of them have complained about the company’s quality for years. Because it’s a known fact: they just don’t always make good stuff.

As fans continue to pushback on social media, one in particular did the extra milage to the difference in quality by comparing on photograph an Adidas jersey and one from Fanatics.

“Material quality aside, they can’t even get the colors right, and that’s one reason why people hate them,” he writes and the picture clearly shows how the colours of the Calgary Flames’ jersey are off.

One Twitter user posted his Fanatics NHL jerseys with printing errors. The first was a Jared Spurgeon Minnesota Wild jersey with Spurgeon’s name spelled “Spurgeno.” The owner also apparently got it signed by Spurgeon, who couldn’t help of make fun of the situation by signing the incorrect name in the autograph. The second was a New Jersey Devils jersey with Jack Hughes’ name and number on the back and Nico Hischier’s number on the sleeves…

On a Twitter page called “Fanatics Sucks, one fan user posted a photo of what looked like a Winnipeg Jets hat with the logo upside down, along with a jersey with projected first overall pick Connor Bedard’s name misspelled. There are tons of examples on the page.

While the agreement might be signed, sealed and delivered, it will take time to get fans on board.
