The Toronto Maple Leafs liked what they saw from Matthew Knies, who provided an instant impact upon his insertion into the lineup for Game 2 of what would be their eventually successful Round 1 Stanley Cup Playoffs series against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

And despite the multiple additions that are arriving in town for this upcoming year, Knies figures to play a key role in Toronto's success and wanting to build off their postseason victory earlier this spring. However, he's going to have to prove it once again.

Knies was included by the Leafs on the roster for their upcoming prospects tournament in Traverse City, MI despite his showing last season.

Toronto's full roster for the upcoming tournament, which starts later this week, is as follows:

Forwards: Matthew Knies Roni Hirvonen Fraser Minten Ty Voit Easton Cowan Tyler Weiss Robert Mastrosimone Braeden Kressler Ryan Tverberg Max Ellis Jacob Frasca Brandon Lisowsky Dmitry Ovchinnikov Tyson Greenway

Defensemen: Topi Niemelä Mazden Leslie Noah Chadwick Spencer Sova Nolan Dillingham Tommy Miller William Villeneuve Jonny Tychonick Mikko Kokkonen

Goaltenders: Luke Cavallin Dennis Hildeby Vyacheslav Peksa
