Evgeni Malkin admits why he’s mad at Sidney Crosby after hitting $1 million shot on Pat McAfee show
The banter between these two is just hilarious. Full story below:
On Wednesday night, ultra popular sports commentator Pat McAfee sold out Pittsburgh’s PPG Paints Arena for a star-studded variety show “The Big Night AHT,” that featured a few of Pittsburgh’s most popular athletes. Pittsburgh Penguins stars Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang were amongst the special guests and the crowd went especially wild when Crosby hit a $1 million shot by throwing a football ball through a ring. Pittsburgh Pirates phenom Paul Skenes, one of the most talented pitchers on earth, failed twice in a row, but Sid nailed it. The crowd started “MVP” chants as the Penguins captain celebrated with his teammates and fellow Pittsburgh sports stars.
After the show, Malkin was asked about the throw and his captain going viral, to which Geno had just the best comeback:
“I think it’s a great event. It’s a lot of fun. I’m a little bit mad they (didn’t) give me a ball to throw, you know?”
Malkin also loves a healthy competition with Crosby and it could have been a lot of fun to see the Russian forward attempt the throw as well.
Letang summed it up, he’s Sidney Crosby, he’s good at everything.
It was a great night as McAfee and his various guests raised money for charities in the Pittsburgh area. Guests in attendance also received over $1 million in cash prize giveaways, which Crosby was able to contribute to in true captain fashion.
