It appears as though anyone who was worried that Alex DeBrincat may not be able to play tonight for the Red Wings has had their fears alleviated!
According to head coach Derek Lalonde, the team expects DeBrincat to be ready to go tonight when Detroit hosts the Winnipeg Jets at Little Caesars Arena; he had missed practice yesterday with an illness. However, his official status will be determined after pre-game warmups.
DeBrincat has enjoyed a scorching red hot start to the season, having scored nine goals in his first seven games with his new team since being acquired from the Ottawa Senators over the summer. Right now, he's the leading goal scorer in The NHL and also leads the League in total points; his teammate and fellow Michigan native Dylan Larkin is right behind him.
