The Vancouver Canucks are riding on a long losing streak and even Elias Pettersson is unable to get them out of it. So far in 17 games this season, he’s only managed nine points (3-6) while his shooting percentage has dropped…
So, what’s the issue, Petey?
On Friday, ahead of tonight’s late game against the Winnipeg Jets, Petterson explained what has been wrong with his game lately, saying he’s overthinking things and trying to find the perfect play right now.
He mentioned a path to solving the issue, stating that he needs to simplify his game.
“I have a lot better in me. I can’t think too much on what I’ve done so far this season and just try to play my best hockey tonight.”
That’s what the Canucks need. And badly. Pettersson was previously asked to improve on his face-off percentage, and now let’s hope he knows he better improve on everything else.
The Canucks badly need it. Vancouver is on a five-game losing streak and time is ticking to get back on track.
Let’s see if Pettersson simplifies his game tonight against the Jets.
