Edmonton Oilers rookie set to make NHL debut on Saturday.
The Edmonton Oilers have officially confirmed the debut of a rookie forward on Saturday.
The Edmonton Oilers are making a National Hockey League dream come true for one young man this afternoon.
On Friday, the Oilers made the move to call up former Oilers second round pick (38th overall) at the 2019 NHL Entry Draft Raphael Lavoie. Lavoie has spent the last 3 season developing in the American Hockey League and has set a blistering pace this season with 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points in his first 5 games with the Bakersfield Condors.
It would seem that Lavoie's strong start to the season has earned him more than just a call up however because on Saturday it was officially confirmed that Lavoie would make his NHL debut.
Since being drafted in 2019, Lavoie has garnered a considerable amount of experience in the AHL, appearing in a total of 141 games, scoring 47 goals and adding 41 assists for a total 88 points.
