EA Sports’ NHL 23 cover gets revealed and it’s historic!

This is a first! On Wednesday, it was revealed that the EA Sports NHL video game will have a split cover, with Trevor Zegras and Sarah Nurse donning the front of NHL 23.

The official covers for all versions of the game will be released later this week.

For the first time in series history, the EA Sports NHL video uses a split cover. Several years ago, for the projected cover of NHL 16, it was expected to be a split cover with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, however, Kane was removed due to sexual assault allegations.

Now it is Zegras and Nurse’s turn. The latter becomes the first woman to appear on the cover, with the IIHF license allowing for proper women’s hockey action for the first time in NHL 22.

As for Zegras who was one of the top rookie in the NHL in 2021-22, he is he first Anaheim Ducks player selected for the main cover, with Teemu Selanne and Jonas Hiller donning various international covers in the past.

Later this week, fans will get to see a full breakdown of new features in NHL 23. A confirmed release date should also be announced.
