Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin has been playing with a heavy heart of late after he and his wife lost their unborn child, but now he's dealing with a physical ailment.
During the 3rd period of tonight's game against the Buffalo Sabres, he took a hit from behind from Tyson Jost, and gingerly skated towards the bench slumped over and in clear pain. He then went right down the runway toward the dressing room and has not returned.
As you can see, Larkin was clearly laboring trying to make his way back to the bench:
Unfortunately, Larkin has had a history of upper body injuries, most notably to his neck after a dirty cross check from Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn in 2021.
UPDATE: The good news is that Larkin has made his way back to the bench from the dressing room, a welcome sight for Red Wings fans.
