Drastic changes to Maple Leafs lineup ahead of clash with Habs.
Maple Leafs forced to make significant adjustments on Saturday due to trades and injuries.
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens will renew their long standing rivalry on Saturday night, but it will be a significantly different looking Maple Leafs team than what the Canadiens have become accustomed to facing.
The Maple Leafs were forced to make several adjustments to their lineup on Saturday after both injuries and trades left Sheldon Keefe with a number of pieces in need of shuffling in the lineup. Keefe confirmed following the Leafs' morning skate on Saturday that forward Mitch Marner would miss time due to a lower body injury, and that combined with the addition of players like Joel Edmundson and Connor Dewar to the lineup through trades this week has given the Leafs forwards a different look.
Here's how the Leafs looked during their morning skate:
Forwards:
Bertuzzi-Matthews-Nylander
Domi-Tavares-Jarnkrok
Knies-Kampf-McMann
Holmberg-Dewar-Reaves
Defensemen:
Brodie-McCabe
Rielly-Lyubushkin
Edmundson-Liljegren
The Canadiens have made just one relatively minor change to their lineup ahead of tonight's game with a swap of players on their fourth line. It will be Rafael Harvey-Pinard who steps into the lineup in lieu of Jesse Ylonen tonight.
Forwards:
Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky
Roy-Newhook-Armia
Gallagher-Evans-Anderson
Pezzetta/Harvey-Pinard/Pearson
Defensemen:
Matheson-Guhle
Xhekaj-Savard
Struble-Harris
