Donald Trump slams Prime Minister Justin Trudeau following Canada’s overtime win over USA
In an interview with Fox News Radio, the President personally attacked Trudeau. Get all the details below:
US President Donald Trump acted like the biggest sore loser on Friday, slamming Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and claiming that he “destroyed” his country, less than 24 hours after Team Canada’s 3-2 overtime win at the 4 nations tournament.
“Justin’s a loser, always has been,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News Radio, arguing that the Canadian prime minister has “done a very bad job for Canada."
Trump went on to say how it a good call from Trudeau not run in the upcoming elections in Canada, commenting “That’s a smart move, because he wouldn’t have a chance of winning.”
When speaking about the game, Trump said that the American team played fantastic.
Fox News wanted to have Trump’s opinion on the American anthem being booed at games with Canada, which only offer the President another chance at taking a shot at Trudeau.
“We have a good relationship with Canada, not with Justin. Because Justin, he’s too far radical left.”
“He’s killing Canada. Canada is doing terribly right now,” he said, claiming that the Trudeau government’s policies “have absolutely destroyed Canada.”
“Canada is in bad shape,” Trump added.
Ever since Trump got his election victory in November, he has referred to Canada as the “51st state” and called Trudeau a “governor” several times, signalling his unconventional approach to US-Canada relations.
Last night, after Connor McDavid became Canada’s hero by scoring at 8:18 of overtime to defeat Team USA, Trudeau set out a barn of a Tweet directed at Trump.
But were we supposed to expect the courtesy call from Trump to congratulate Canada on their win in what was an awesome game? Of course not…
On Friday, Justin Trudeau posted another message, directed at all Canadians on his social media accounts:
