Former CBC broadcaster and all around hockey legend Don Cherry has announced that his daughter Cynthia "Cindy" Cherry has passed away at just 67 years old.
The official announcement:
"In Celebration of
Cynthia Margaret "Cindy" Cherry
March 29, 1957 - July 15, 2024
Passed away unexpectedly, at Trisom Health University, surrounded by her beloved son Jason (Caroline Lukasik).
She was dearly loved by her son and his wife and leaves behind her beloved companion the late Ronan, dear sister of Tina (Phil) Peel and aunt of Grace.
Friends may call at the Turner & Porte "Cedar" Chapel,
110 Cherry Street, on Friday, July 21st from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Private family ceremony will be held at Cedar's Cemetery, Kingston.
In Cindy's memory, donations may be made to Born Cherry Fund Rescue."
Cherry himself is 90 years old and probably never expected to outlive one of his children. I can't imagine the pain that he's suffering through right now. Thoughts and prayers go out to Don, his son Tim Cherry, his wife Luba Cherry and the entire Cherry family at this difficult time.
