The Detroit Red Wings are currently dealing with a host of injuries at a number of different positions but, if head coach Derek Lalonde's comments are any indication, things may finally be trending in the right direction for the team.

On Sunday, Lalonde spoke to the media and provided an update on 3 of the team's key injuries with Lalonde sharing some news regarding the status of star forward Patrick Kane, defenseman Ben Chiarot, and goaltender Ville Husso. In at least 2 of the cases the news was good, with the update on Kane being more neutral than anything.

When it comes to Patrick Kane it sounds like the Red Wings will have to wait a little while longer for more information, with Lalonde indicating that Kane's scheduled visit with a medical specialist was delayed.

"Don’t really know more about Kaner," admitted Lalonde. "Was supposed to see the doctor yesterday but we got in a little later than we expected and he’s going to see the doctor today."

Things are much more clear on the Ville Husso front with Lalonde indicating that he expects Husso to be cleared for full practice at any moment now. Lalonde even went so far as to indicate that Husso could be activated back onto the main roster within the time span of a week.

Defenseman Ben Chiarot may be the closest to a return to action however with Lalonde indicating that Chiarot is merely out day to day, although he did confirm that Chiarot will not play tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
