David Pastrnak attempting to recruit Leon Draisaitl to Bruins!

We've seen it all throughout professional sports when top players attempt to recruit other top players in an effort to create a so-called "super team", and Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak is getting in on the fun. 

While making a guest appearance on the popular "Spittin' Chicklets" podcast, Pastrnak said in no uncertain terms that he would love to see the Bruins acquire Edmonton Oilers superstar forward Leon Draisaitl. 

"I would love Draisaitl," he said.

When co-host Paul Bissonnette brought up former Bruins forward Tyler Bertuzzi as a potential target to re-acquire, Pastrnak smiled and didn't sound so sure. 

“He went to the Leafs,” Pastrnak joked. “Are you kidding me? He went to the Leafs. I don’t know man, like you got me into a tight squeeze right now!”

“For the Boston Bruins, Original Six, it should be enough for you to want to come and play here,” he said. “Would I love for people to come and wanting to play with me? Yes, of course. At the end of the day, if you don’t want to come to the Bruins … you have to want to come there for the organization and be prepared to obviously learn and follow the rules there and we’ll see. I think it’s going to be an interesting summer.”

Right now, Draisaitl and the rest of his Oilers teammates are locked in a battle with the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Finals, currently tied at two games apiece following Edmonton's 5-2 victory on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, Pastrnak and the Bruins were felled by the Florida Panthers for the second consecutive year in the postseason, albeit this time in Round 2. 

Following this season, Draisaitl has one year remaining on the eight-year, $68 million deal that he signed in 2017 that carries an AAV of $8.5 million. He'll be due for a handsome raise on that considering what he's been able to accomplish since then, emerging as one of the NHL's most lethal offensive threats. 

Pastrnak is set in Boston for the foreseeable future, having inked an eight-year contract extension of his own last summer. And right now, the Bruins are projected to have approximately $21 million in available cap space with which to work in the offseason.
