Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid now knows when he will meet his fate.

The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety officially announced on Sunday morning that McDavid would face a suspension for his cross-check during Saturday night's game against the Vancouver Canucks, a cross-check that was delivered to the head of Canucks forward Conor Garland during the final seconds of the game. At the time however no time or date had been set for the hearing, a situation that the league has now provided an update to.

On Sunday night, Player Safety officially confirmed that McDavid's hearing will take place on Monday, during the afternoon, which means that we won't have to wait long to learn his fate.

McDavid however will not be the only player facing a suspension for cross-checking on Monday afternoon with the league announcing that Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers will also have his hearing scheduled on Monday afternoon.

The league announced earlier today that Myers would face a hearing for the cross-check that he delivered to the head of Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard, a cross-check that appeared to be a clear act of retaliation for the blow that McDavid had delivered to Garland just moments prior.

It will be interesting to see how hard Player Safety comes down on both Myers and McDavid given that McDavid is one of the faces of the league and both infractions were so similar in nature.
