The NHL world is still in surprise mode thanks to the eyebrow-raising trade that was completed earlier this week that sent Philadelphia Flyers prospect Cutter Gauthier to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Jamie Drysdale and a 2nd round pick.
Lots has been made on Philadelphia's side of things, who implied that they were unable to get a hold of their prospect for weeks at a time and that he changed his mind about wanting to play his career in Philadelphia.
But now, Gauthier is telling his side of things, and said that he's even receiving death threats.
“There’s been a lot of good and bad,” Gauthier said on a call with reporters, per The Athletic. “A 19-year-old kid getting a lot of death threats and a bunch of thousands and thousands of people reaching out and just saying some pretty poor things that I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy, it’s pretty tough to see, obviously. But it’s a business. With all the rumours spreading around that aren’t true, it’s kind of tough to go out and say one word or anything to kind of quiet those people."
