The Toronto Maple Leafs have some concerns around their roster coming into this week and on Monday morning, after the team's morning skate, head coach Craig Berube was tasked with facing the media and addressing some of those concerns.

Perhaps the biggest concern is around goaltender Joseph Woll, who missed practice again on Monday morning, and Berube had some good news on that front indicating that Woll is making progress. Although Woll did not practice on Monday, he did get on the ice which was a positive for the Maple Leafs.

According to the head coach, Woll could rejoin his teammates in practice as soon as Tuesday, although that isn't official just yet.

"It’s a good sign," said Berube of Woll hitting the ice on Monday. "He’s improving."

Perhaps the other big concern for Maple Leafs' fans is the future of defenseman Timothy Liljegren. Liljegren has been the subject of much trade speculation after being a healthy scratch for every game this season so far, but Berube indicated that Liljegren could slot back into the lineup sooner rather than later.

"I think he's been practicing well," said Berube. "I've talked to him a little bit ago and I think his practice is even better. More intensity. Doing things quicker. Chance is he'll play on Wednesday."

The only player that Berube did not have a positive update on was forward John Tavares who has been sidelined with an illness. Berube indicated that Tavares was still dealing with the ill effects of that illness and did not have a timeline for his return.

"He’s better, but still not there yet to practice today," admitted Berube.

It sounds like we can expect more updates on Tuesday, so stay tuned for those.
