Coyotes' update on the Jakob Chychrun situation.

The Coyotes shed some light on the rumored trade.

The Arizona Coyotes were reportedly very close to a deal that would have sent Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun to the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday, but the latest reports indicate that the deal between the Kings and Coyotes may have hit some kind of snag when it comes to an ancillary part of the deal.

This of course puts the Coyotes in something of an awkward position given that they had already announced over the weekend that Chychrun had been made a healthy scratch for "trade related reasons" and it sounds like the solution may be to keep Chychrun on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.

On Monday, Coyotes head coach Andre Tourigny confirmed that Chychrun would remain a healthy scratch for the remainder of the week if necessary as the Coyotes continue to work on a trade involving the young defenseman. This may very well mean that we have already seen the last of Chychrun in a Coyotes uniform, and that he will not return to the ice until after he has been moved to a new team in the National Hockey League.

Many believe that the Kings remain the clear frontrunners for a deal here and it sounds like it's only a matter of time before we learn, officially, where Chychrun will end up going.
