Coyotes players receive heroes welcome in Salt Lake City
Utah is ready for the NHL!
The decades long saga that was marred by constant complications with ownership and arena issues finally came to a close earlier this month, as the National Hockey League announced that the Arizona Coyotes will be playing in Salt Lake City next season.
Earlier today, members of the team formerly known as the Coyotes arrived in their new professional home, and were greeted by throngs of fans who had gathered for the occasion.
Among the hand-written signs that young fans held included messages like "ACTUALLY, SALT LAKE DOESN'T SUCK" (a clear reference to the chant during the final game at Mullett Arena last week) and "I skipped school to be here!"
It looks like hockey is already taking off in Utah, and it would only serve to benefit the NHL and the growth of the game in general if the new franchise were to enjoy success in their new surroundings!
