Ten counterfeit Stanley Cup rings from the Detroit Red Wings' 1936 championship were seized at the Canadian border in upstate New York last month reports Syracuse.com.

Champlain, N.Y. -- A shipment of counterfeit 1936 NHL Stanley Cup Championship rings was seized at the Canadian border in Upstate New York earlier this month.

Ten rings were confiscated at the Champlain Port of Entry cargo facility, according to a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The Detroit Red Wings counterfeit rings were determined to be worth around $15,000, border patrol officials said.
The shipment was selected for inspection and was seized after a thorough search revealed the 10 fake rings, they said.
