Connor Bedard is getting International praise and the latest update ahead of tonight’s game between his Regina Pats and the Calgary Hitmen is proving that fact. The Scotiabank Saddledome is sold out ahead of the contest, meaning 19,289 fans will be attending the game to see the projected first overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft in action.

We bet most folks in the Saddledome later tonight won’t be there to support the local team, the Hitmen, but will want to take a closer look at Bedard.

After all, the kid was granted exceptional status by Hockey Canada back in 2020, allowing him to become the first-ever Western Hockey League player to compete full-time as a 15-year-old. Since he entered the league in March 2020, he’s put up incredible numbers for the Pats, posting 106 goals and 216 points in 112 games, including a goal and two assists in Regina’s 6-5 overtime loss to the Red Deer Rebels on Tuesday night.

The Pats are the eighth-place team in the Eastern Conference, holding down the last playoff position.

The entire fanbase wants more of Bedard.

Last time the Pats came to the Saddledome to face the Hitmen in October, only 3,279 fans attended. That was before we got to see more of Bedard in the WHL and especially to see his record-breaking run at the 2023 World Juniors championship.

The sellout crowd at the Saddledome is in for a treat tonight!
