Connor Bedard’s growing frustration leads to significant trade rumour!

Last night, the young superstar couldn’t control his anger any longer, which means the Hawks could be forced to make a trade soon.

The Chicago Blackhawks are seventh in the Central division with a 5–91 record, just above the Nashville Predators, and superstar Connor Bedard is growing angrier and angrier. It was clear last night in the 3-1 loss to the Dallas Stars when he got penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct. He got caught kicking the stick of defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin after both players got tangled up and the blue liner lost his stick. When Lyubushkin bent over to retrieve his stick that’s when a frustrated Bedard kicked Lyubushkin’s stick and earned himself two minutes in the box.

Fans and insiders have witnessed Bedard’s frustration over his team’s slow start to this season and just last month, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported that it has pushed the Hawks to look at the trade market. Now, it’s getting even more serious as Chicago must look at options on the trade market for short-term roster improvements in order to keep Bedard happy without derailing their long-term plan.

Friedman revealed how defenseman Connor Murphy could be a huge trade bait in Chicago and when speaking with Bob Stauffer last week, he wondered if the Edmonton Oilers could come calling to bolster their defense group.

The issue in Edmonton would be finding a way to get Murphy’s salary fitting under the cap, which could lead the Oilers to sending a forward in return.

It was recently mentioned by Stauffer how Jeff Skinner could be on the move and perhaps he could bring help to Bedard in Chicago.

Friedman recently explained that Chicago attempted to acquire star winger Jake Guentzel during the summer before the Carolina Hurricanes traded him to the Tampa Bay, where he signed a long-term lucrative deal with the Lightning. At least, the Blackhawks did try to get a star line mate for Bedard, which proves they could be at it once again on the market.

Chicago could use their prospects and draft picks to make a competitive bid for a top player and get immediate help up front. On top of that, they benefit from great salary cap space, meaning that this summer, they could try to sign a top free agent.

And so, someone please tell Bedard that help is on the way! Maybe he will cool down a bit as general manager Kyle Davidson finds a way.
