First overall pick and Chicago Blackhawks rookie Connor Bedard does not like to lose. And that’s an understatement.
After the Blackhawks’ scrimmage game on Monday night, which Bedard’s team lost 6-3, the young forward was reportedly quite upset with the result. When media members headed to the dressing room to speak with players, veteran forward Nick Foligno could not believe how upset Bedard was and spilled the beans to reporters:
“Connor was extremely upset he lost today, which I love. I was looking at him, he’s kind of pouting over there.”
Bedard was used in the scrimmage game at the center of a line with Taylor Hall and Ryan Donato on the wings on a Red Team. However on the White Squad, you had Lukas Reichel between Andreas Athanasiou and Philipp Kurashev.
Head coach Luke Richardson said he still saw “good chemistry” between Bedard and Hall. This could be something positive to make the first overall pick crack a smile…
On Wednesday, the Blackhawks are expected to address special teams play in practice beofe they host the St. Louis Blues in Chicago for a preseason game on Thursday.
