Concern for Thatcher Demko after he leaves game early.

The Vancouver Canucks star goaltender had a bit of a rough day on Saturday and would leave early.

The Vancouver Canucks have a cause for concern and we may not get an official update for some time.

On Saturday night, Canucks star goaltender Thatcher Demko suddenly and mysteriously took himself out of a big game against the playoff-bound Winnipeg Jets in spite of the fact that Demko had been flawless until that point. Demko would exit the game despite the Canucks having a commanding 4-0 lead, and no other update was provided on his status other than the Canucks confirming he would not return.

One of the big concerns regarding Demko's departure stems from the fact that the veteran goaltender was dealing with some issues earlier in the day, Jeff Paterson described Demko's discomfort during the team's morning skate as "nothing serious" but you have to wonder if it may have played a factor in Demko leaving last night's game.

Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet was asked about this concern following the game but he dismissed it as a "fluke thing."

The Canucks have announced that they won't have another media availability until this coming Tuesday, so we may have to wait for an official update on Demko's status.
