Clayton Keller spills the beans on Utah HC's secret team name.

There has been a great deal of mystery when it comes to the unannounced name of the Utah Hockey Club's new National Hockey League franchise... at least until now.

That's because Utah HC forward Clayton Keller may have prematurely spilled the beans when it comes to the name that the franchise will eventually adopt down the line. During last week's NHL North American Players Media Tour, which took place on Wednesday, Keller was asked about the team's secret team name with Keller simply blurting out what he believes that name will be.

"It sounds like it’s going to be the Yeti, but I don’t know," said Keller as per NHL.com. "We’ll see what happens. Whatever they choose, I think it’ll be a good one."

'Yeti' has of course been one of the most popular suggestions tossed around on social media as fans and pundits alike have tried to guess what the team's new name will be, with perhaps 'Blizzard' being the only other name that has really come close in terms of fan reaction and popularity.

Unfortunately we are going to have to wait quite some time before we find out whether or not Keller is right about his prediction when it comes to the name, with Utah HC making the decision not to introduce a team name in their inaugural season. There are several reasons the team might be choosing to do so, including the short window they had between the purchase of the now former Arizona Coyotes and the start of a new NHL season. The team may wish to properly set up its branding and marketing efforts before officially unveiling the new name.

If you're more cynical, you might also view as an opportunity to sell two sets of inaugural jerseys, one without an official team name in the first season and one with the new team name in the second season.

Only time will tell if that second season will star the Yeti as Keller suspects, or something entirely different.
