Canadian hockey legend Chris Pronger calls out Hockey Canada after their failure atthe WJC.

The failure of Hockey Canada at the World Junior Championship tournament left Canadian fans stunned and angry and I suspect that we are only just starting to see some of the ramifications of that failure, ramification that I believe will be felt for many years to come.

It has also resulted in some very prominent figures in the Canadian hockey community speaking out, the latest of which is legendary Canadian defenseman and Hockey Hall of Famer Chris Pronger. On Saturday, Pronger took to social media to respond to comments made by Hockey Canada's management team following their early exit from the World Junior Championship tournament, with Pronger clearly looking for answers to what he views as a major problem with the organization.

"I guess the next question is … where do we go from here?" asked Pronger on Saturday. "The days of countries being nervous and afraid to play Canada are gone. Swagger gone. They actually look forward to playing Canada now. IMO that needs to change. Canadian hockey is missing an identity."

Pronger also called into question how Hockey Canada was spending the huge amount of funding it has received over the years, asking out loud if enough of that funding was going towards the program that represents the country internationally.

"Where is all the money that is being made going?" asked Pronger. "I am sure they can allocate some of that to the program."

Pronger also balked at one of the responses from coach Dave Cameron, who made comments suggesting that there was simply nothing he could have done differently to better prepare his team for the tournament.

"Ummm that was not a very good answer," said Pronger of Cameron. "Of course there was something he could do!
"

It certainly will be interesting to see if more prominent figures in the Canadian hockey community speak out, or perhaps step up behind the scenes in an attempt to avoid a repeat of this debacle in the future.
