Canucks prepared to make shocking trade to solve Pettersson/Miller drama.

The Canucks have put the nuclear option on the table according to the NHL's top insider.

If it wasn't already clear that the Vancouver Canucks are sick and tired of the ongoing drama between forwards J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson, following an explosive interview from Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin earlier this week, the message has definitely been made crystal clear now.

On Saturday night, National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman made a truly shocking revelation when he expressed his belief that the Canucks are now seriously considering the possibility of moving on from both Pettersson and Miller. Although we have been hearing for weeks now that the Canucks would prefer to keep both players, it now appears that the nuclear option is actually on the table.

"You should be prepared for all outcomes," revealed Friedman on Hockey Night in Canada. "There's really 3 of them, neither gets dealt, one of them gets dealt, or both of them get dealt, that is on the table. I don't want to predict the likelihood of any particular scenario but I think all 3 of those outcomes are possible."

Not only is the option to trade both players on the table but it sounds like the Canucks have already been working the phones and having discussions about trading both players as well.

"The Canucks are definitely, definitely, looking at the market for both players," said Friedman without a hint of doubt in his voice.

It sounds like the Canucks will be looking to make a quick turnaround if they do indeed trade one, or both, of these players with Friedman identifying that the Canucks have been asking around for a center as part of the package that would be involved in a return for either Pettersson or Miller.

"Other things I can tell, just from making the calls, I think if the Canucks do make a trade they are going to need a center in return," revealed Friedman. "I believe the team has prioritized center in the return more than the blue line."

Friedman concluded by indicating that he has found no evidence that either player has asked for a trade, yet another sign that it is indeed the Canucks who have reached the limit of their patience with both these players.

"There have been some reports that maybe someone in Vancouver has asked for a trade, I can find no proof of that at this point in time," concluded Friedman.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled on this one, things could truly be on the verge of blowing up in Vancouver.
