UPDATE: While I wasn't able to pick it up live, 'O Canada' anthem singer Chantal Kreviazuk reportedly changed the lyrics of tonight's anthem on purpose as a way to stick it to Donald Trump and the current U.S. political administration.

From CBC:

Chantal Kreviazuk, the Grammy-nominated singer from Winnipeg, changed the lyrics to 'O Canada' at the 4 Nations Face-Off game against the United States on Thursday to sing "that only us command" instead of "in all of us command."

A representative confirmed in an email to CBC News that the switch was intentional in response to the annexation rhetoric coming from the U.S.

Read below for our earlier report on the anthem and listen in for yourself.

Surprise, surprise... fans in Boston, MA this evening boo'ed the signing of 'O Canada' prior to puck drop at The 4 Nations Faceoff Final this evening.

While fans didn't exactly drown out the anthem... I kinda wish they had as Chantal Kreviazuk's version wasn't exactly my favourite.

Following chants of 'USA! USA! USA!' the crowd loudly sang along to 'The Star Spangled Banner'.
