Bruins top prospect Fabian Lysell injured after big hit on Saturday.
Fabian Lysell leaves the game.
The Boston Bruins have taken a pretty big hit in the preseason, no pun intended.
On Saturday afternoon the Bruins faced off against the Philadelphia Flyers, and unfortunately for the Bruins they already find themselves down a man. Bruins top prospect Fabian Lysell has been injured after he was on the receiving end of a big hit from Flyers defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen, one that appeared to catch the young Bruin with his head down.
The game was scoreless after 20 minutes of action and it would be in the opening minutes of the second period that Ristolainen would find and punish the vulnerable Lysell. Lysell appeared to be playing the puck along the boards in the corner, and may have lost the pucks in his skate before making the play, and unfortunately for him Ristolainen took full advantage and delivered a punishing hit to the 19 year old former first round pick (21st overall) at the 2021 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe believes that this is likely to be a shoulder injury, having spotted Lysell favoring that part of his body as he excited the ice and headed down the tunnel, however we are still awaiting an official update from the Bruins themselves.
