Bruins cut 19 players from training camp on Sunday.

The Boston Bruins have made their biggest round of cuts yet, slashing 19 players off the roster.

The Boston Bruins have made a huge number of cuts on Sunday, which of course makes perfect sense with the regular season just right around the corner at this point.

In total 19 players have been cut from the main roster with the bulk of those being assigned to the American Hockey League where they will join the ranks of the Providence Bruins. There are however a few notable exceptions in the list.

Perhaps the most noitable of those exceptions is 25 year old center Marc McLaughlin who will have to first clear waivers before he can be assigned to the AHL. That means that any teams interested in acquiring McLaughlin will be able to do so via the waivers process, although admittedly that seems unlikely at this stage of the preseason.

30 year old Finnish goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo has also been released from his professional tryout agreement and he will now also be joining the Providence Bruins in the AHL.

The remaining 17 players have all been assigned directly to Providence and here is the full list of names in question:

Joey Abate
Drew Bavaro
Ryan Bischel
Frederic Brunet
Michael Callahan
Riley Duran
Jackson Edward
John Farinacci
Brett Harrison
Trevor Kuntar
Fabian Lysell
Nolan Maier
Ryan Mast
Adam Mechura
Georgii Merkulov
Mason Millman
Jaxon Nelson

The Bruins still have 3 preseason games remaining on their schedule, all of which will happen over the course of this week. On Tuesday the Bruins will welcome the Philadelphia Flyers to Boston, followed by a pair of road games in Los Angeles and in Washington where they will face the Kings and Capitals respectively. Once those games have wrapped up, the Bruins will officially kick off their regular season on the following Tuesday Oct. 8th in a game against the Florida Panthers
