The Boston Bruins remain red hot, having easily taken down the Philadelphia Flyers by a 6-0 score yesterday afternoon in downtown Boston at TD Garden. The win improved them to an NHL-best 34-5-4 record, further solidifying their hold on the odd-on favorite to be lifting the Stanley Cup later this year.
They'll next be in action tomorrow night at UBS Arena, the second-year home of the New York Islanders. And ahead of the matchup, they've announced a roster transaction. Finnish center Joona Koppanen has been recalled by the team for the second time in as many weeks, while banged up forward Tomas Nosek will be sitting out.
“It’s just the opportunity to play. [Nosek] doesn’t deserve it, but he’s understanding of the situation and it’s one more game to let him back to 100 percent health,” said Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery.
Koppanen has already skated in his 1st NHL game last week, Boston's first regulation home loss at home all season which came at the hands of the upstart Seattle Kraken.
