Bruce Cassidy trolls the Bruins ahead of return to TD Garden
He's feeling boastful.

Following the 1st round postseason exit by the Boston Bruins at the hands of the Carolina Hurricanes in 2022, the team made the call to terminate head coach Bruce Cassidy after several years on the job that also included coming within a single victory of the Stanley Cup in 2019.
It wouldn't be long before Cassidy landed a new gig, taking over as head coach for the Vegas Golden Knights. Meanwhile, the Bruins hired former Dallas Stars bench boss Jim Montgomery. But Boston found out the hard way that regular season success doesn't mean anything in the playoffs, as they suffered a four games to three heartbreaker against the eventual Eastern Conference champion Florida Panthers in Round 1.
Meanwhile, Cassidy is now forever going to be known as a Stanley Cup-winning coach.
As fate would have it, Cassidy and the Golden Knights would face the Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final, which culminated in a rather easy four games to one series win. And ahead of tonight's game at TD Garden, he couldn't help remind the fans who once cheered for him that he's got some new bling with him this time around.
“I think last year there was the unknown, didn’t know what would happen — you come back in here, you get let go,” Cassidy said. “You don’t know if you’re gonna get booed out of the building or [get] a nice hand.
“So anyway, we got that over with. It’s nice to come back with a big, nice shiny ring on your finger too — always a good visit with that.”
