Brock Boeser linked to 4 contenders with a week to go to trade deadline!
7 days before fans find out if the star forward is leaving Vancouver. See where he could now end up down below:
With just a week remaining until the March 7 trade deadline, longest-tenured Canuck Brock Boeser remains uncertain about his future in Vancouver. The pending unrestricted free agent is still without an extension and has been mentioned more and more as a possible trade chip that the Canucks could move prior to next Friday.
Boeser, who is in the final year of a three-year, $19.95 million contract that he signed ahead of the 2022-23 season, is aware that an extension in Vancouver might not happen.
Daily Face-Off’s Matt Larkin has now linked four teams that could attempt to acquire Boeser in the next seven days. He believes the the Los Angeles Kings, Vegas Golden Knights, New Jersey Devils, and Colorado Avalanche could go after the top forward. There are all contenders at this time, while the Canucks are sitting precariously in the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference, leaving them unsure about being buyers or sellers at the deadline.
“What if the two sides don’t agree on a deal and he walks for nothing in the summer? Considering it’s a seller’s market and Boeser could net a package including a first-round pick and respectable prospect, the Canucks have to at least entertain offers for him.”
There have already been a lot of changes in Vancouver this season, and perhaps general manager Patrik Allvin still has a major trade up his sleeves. There is no doubt he would get interesting offers from, not only those four aforementioned contenders, but other teams that are seeking a game-changing addition in a long playoff run, perhaps the Minnesota Wild, close to Boeser’s hometown, or the Florida Panthers.
This season, Boeser has scored 36 points, including 18 goals, in 52 games.
