Breaking: Wings make a move with Booth
GM Holland finally makes a decision on the little used veteran
HockeyFeed
According to a report from NHL insider Pierre LeBrun, the Detroit Red Wings have placed veteran forward David Booth on waivers.
The 32-year-old Booth has played just four games for the team this season, going pointless and putting up four penalty minutes. A surprise training camp invite, Booth impressed the team’s coaching staff during the preseason and earned himself a one-year contract with the team just before the start of the regular season.
The Detroit native is a former 30 goal scorer in the NHL, but has jumped around from the NHL, AHL and even KHL the past three seasons in search of a full-time job. Should he clear waivers tomorrow, look for him to accept an assignment to the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins.
