Breaking: Update on Methot following the Crosby slash is not good.
Bad news for the Senators and Marc Methot.
HockeyFeed
On Thursday night Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby delivered a slash to Ottawa Senators defenseman Marc Methot that won't soon be forgotten.
It didn't take long for both fans and the broadcast team to notice that something was seriously wrong with Methot, immediately after he removed his glove the gruesome result of Crosby's slash was revealed. It looked like the tip of Methot's finger had nearly been completely severed off, and the detached piece was left hanging to the side.
If you want to view video of the incident you can view it here, but be warned, the images are as bad as they sound.
Unfortunately for the Senators and Methot, the update is also about as bad as you would expect given the obvious damage. Senators insider Bruce Garrioch is reporting that Methot's finger is "shattered" and as a result he is out for several weeks.
