Breaking: Head coach ejected from game after chewing out NHL referee.
This is ridiculous.
HockeyFeed
An National Hockey League head coach has been ejected from a game, and frankly the circumstances in which it occurred paint referee Francois St. Laurent in a very poor light.
Whole Paul Maurice certainly crossed a line with the language he used, and by repeatedly berating the officials, it's also very clear why he was upset, two of his players were injured by the same player, both on questionable hits, and no calls were made on the ice.
It's relatively rare to see an NHL head coach get thrown out of game, and usually when they do they are more than deserving of it, but in this case I find it very difficult not to empathize with Maurice's frustrations. However the truly reprehensible part of this entire scenario is Francois St. Laurent laughing after ejecting Maurice, and the Jets broadcast correctly called him out for doing so.
First here's a look at why Maurice was livid.
Now the incident that led to Maurice being ejected.
