Brandon Montour's phone blown up after taunting Brad Marchand

The Panthers blue liner went viral for mocking the Bruins captain!

Things have gotten especially heated between the Florida Panthers and Boston Bruins, as the two teams combined for an astounding 136 penalty minutes in the 3rd period alone, the first time in nine years that two playoffs teams amassed over 70 penalty minutes apiece.

The Panthers would prevail with a 6-1 victory, evening up the series at one game apiece. And following defenseman Brandon Montour's shorthanded goal, he directed a licking gesture toward Marchand, a clear allusion to the infamous incident when the notorious pest licked then-Lightning forward Ryan Callahan during the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

And for the Panthers defenseman, he got plenty of reaction from friends and family following the viral incident.

“I got a lot of texts with the licking emoji and whatnot,” Montour told ESPN’s Greg Wyshynski on Friday. “When (Marchand does) those things, you have to kind of take the joke, I guess. Maybe for the rest of his career.”

Tonight, the two teams renew the rivalry in Game 3 at Boston's TD Garden, but both teams have been warned by the National Hockey League to tone down the physical outbursts ahead of the critical matchup.
