Brady Tkachuk isn’t the captain of the Ottawa Senators for just any reason : the forward is a leader with grit, leadership and his own way of getting under opponents’ skins.
On Tuesday night against the Canadiens in Montreal, Tkachuk decided to go after one of the biggest fish and as the Habs enforcer Arber Xhekaj attempted to defend himself with a reverse hit.
However, once Xhekaj turned around, Tkachuk quickly skated to the bench to escape his wrath.
At the end of the second period, Xhekaj had had enough. The Canadiens’ defenseman flipped the puck at the Senators’ captain and the two started to shove one another. But when WIFI dropped the gloves to deliver a few punches, Tkachuk turtled and looked to get away as he was saved by the officials who broke up the fight.
Fans were quick to call out Tkachuk after he refused to drop the gloves with Xhekaj, proving furthermore that the Canadiens’ blue liner is feared by many across the league.
In the end, Tkachuk got the last laugh in Montreal. As the game was tied at 4 with less than two minutes to go, the captain scored the game-winner, winning the ultimate fight between his Senators and Xhekaj and the Canadiens.
That’s what matters, no?
