Brady Tkachuk 'expecting a standing ovation' in return to Calgary.
Tkachuk has high hopes.
The Calgary Flames and the Ottawa Senators will face off on Sunday night in what should be one hell of a game as both teams are desperate to pick up two points as they both battle for a playoff spot.
The game will also be somewhat special though due to the fact that it will mark the return of Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk to Calgary. While Brady has never played as a member of the Calgary Flames, he quickly became a fan favorite in 2022 when he was a regular feature at the Flames' games with his family to cheer on his brother Matthew Tkachuk.
Brady was full of energy positive vibes during that Flames playoff run and he often served to hype up the crowd around him, no doubt earning himself a ton of loyal fans in the process. On Sunday night though, he will return as a member of the opposition and that likely means that the reception for him will be a little different.
In spite of that, on Sunday his father Keith Tkachuk revealed, in a joking manner, that his son is still expecting a very warm reception from the fans that welcomed him with open arms last season.
“He’s expecting a standing ovation in Calgary when he plays there," said father Keith Tkachuk. “Maybe they’ll have a video tribute for him."
Unfortunately if Brady is celebrating on Sunday night it will mean bad news for the fans in the Saddledome, so regardless of the reception he receives it seems like a forgone conclusion that fans in Calgary will find themselves cheering against a Tkachuk this time around.
