Brad Marchand takes off his glove and literally grabs Nick Cousins by the throat!
First he went for the DDT and now he goes for the chokeslam!?!?
Vince McMahon better get on the phone with Brad Marchand pronto.
Last night Marchand made headlines after he went for the Jake 'The Snake' DDT on New Jersey Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler and tonight the Boston Bruins' captain was apparently lining up The Undertaker's chokeslam on Ottawa Senators forward Nick Cousins!
I kid, of course, but Marchand literally grabbed Cousins by the throat in between plays in a very threatening manner.
Check it out:
Just when you think you've seen every trick up Marchand's sleeve he goes out and does something like this...
Think this will gain him a phone call with NHL Player Safety?
Read below for our earlier report on Marchand's antics last night against the Devils.
In case you missed it last night, the New Jersey Devils managed to turn things around for themselves, putting up one of their best performances of the season in a 5-1 drubbing of the Boston Bruins.
As for the Bruins, they continue to slide down the standings in the NHL's Atlantic Division and were surpassed by the Montreal Canadiens last night. The Bruins are now technically outside the Stanley Cup Wild Card picture and have some serious work to do if they want to cement a playoff spot over the next three months.
It was another particularly brutal showing by the B's last night and maybe no one personified that better than captain Brad Marchand. The captain went pointless and had very little impact on the game, save for a Jake 'The Snake' Roberts style finishing move on Devils defender Jonas Siegenthaler.
That's the DDT! Where's Damien!?!?
In all seriousness, for the first time in years I'm really beginning to wonder about the Bruins' leadership.
This team is at a cross roads and in years past during these types of moments the Bruins could lean on their leadership group to pull them through. As much as Marchand is a leader, I don't think he's the type of leader in the mold of Patrice Bergeron or Zdeno Chara or, Hell, even Tuukka Rask that can keep a level head and get his team focused on the task at hand. Marchand has always been the firecracker in the B's lineup and he plays that role well. They need Charlie McAvoy and David Pastrnak to step into new roles over the next few months if they're going to secure a playoff spot.
