Brad Marchand reveals why he deleted his Twitter account and the only reason why he’ll return
A hot topic this week when Marchand deleted his account after mocking rival teams…

Fans were quick to react on Wednesday when it was revealed that Boston Bruins star forward Brad Marchand had deleted his Twitter account.
Ahead of the Bruins’ game against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday, Marchand explained what pushed him to delete the social media from his phone.
“It’s strictly because I’m not paying for Twitter,” he said, according to Boston.com’s Conor Ryan.
“They took my two-step verification, so I was like, you know what - I’m going to get out now while I can,” Marchand added.
Marchand is known as one of the most active NHL players on social media, and isn’t closed to the idea of coming back to Twitter. But only for one good reason:
“I’m sure I’ll be back on at some point - if I’m bored and want to make fun of someone,” he said.
That’s one thing Marchand loves to do on social media, and has gotten in trouble in the past for getting into feuds with rival teams. Just recently, he fired shots at the Edmonton Oilers’ fanbase and went on a roasting spree.
Marchand is not the only superstar to get dissuaded from using Twitter, who recently removed two-factor authentication via text message for users who aren’t signed up for its Twitter Blue subscription service. The subscription costs $8 per month.
It wouldn’t break Marchand’s bank, but we get the feeling that it’s a question of principle more than one about money.
Anyway, Marchand has been focused on the Bruins’ success as the league’s best team by a wide margin this season.
The focus is on the postseason and the Stanley Cup - not Twitter.
