Brad Marchand goes viral for ridiculous dive
The Bruins captain is back to his old tactics!
If the Boston Bruins had any realistic aspirations of sweeping the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, they got a harsh reality check.
Despite taking a 2-1 lead into the first intermission, the Maple Leafs would storm back thanks to tallies from captain John Tavares and 69-goal scorer Auston Matthews, holding on for a 3-2 win and tying the series at one game apiece.
And not surprisingly, there were more shenanigans involving two of the better pests in today's League - and they happen to be former teammates.
Tyler Bertuzzi, who played last year's postseason with the Bruins, is now with the Maple Leafs, and was doing his part to get under their skin by giving a whack to Bruins captain Brad Marchand. And though Marchand folded quicker than a cheap tent and collapsed to the ice feigning injury, it was Bertuzzi who was penalized for a slash despite Marchand's gifted acting skills.
A different angle of the dive:
And naturally, Marchand's antics weren't exactly warmly received.
